Brad's parents and youngest sister were able to come and visit us at the beginning of August. We had lots of fun with them here and were able to see some places none of us had been before. (Bear with me, this post will have many pictures!)
One of the first things we did was go down to the Waterfront Park. Jacob normally really likes this little water park, but this time he was much more into the "regular" park that's nearby.
After we let him play awhile at the park, we got some pizza and ate by the river. Then G&G took Jacob back to the swings and let us "adults" play without Jacob. We threw the Frisbee awhile, but then Kimberly and I decided it would be fun to roll down the hill together :)
On Sunday after church we headed over to Nathaniel Boone National Forest to visit Red River Gorge (RRG) and the Natural Bridge. We rented a cabin for two nights and had lots of fun hanging out together.
This picture is of part of Red River Gorge - I think it was part of the Angel's Windows hike, but they all run together in my memory.

Also at RRG - this took some fancy footwork to climb up onto this giant bluff-type thing. It's a LONG ways down from up here :)
Monday night for FHE we went swimming in a little "lake". It seemed more like a giant pond to me and I didn't actually get in, but Jacob had a blast!
Looking up from under the Natural BridgeWe did another hike in the Natural Bridge area. We hiked around the gorge to the other side and then we took a picture of the Bridge from across the gorge. It's an amazing hike, but not for the faint of heart or those afraid of heights!
By the end of the hike, Jacob was exhausted (yes, we took him with us!). He even fell asleep on Brad's shoulder (sweaty as he was) so we had to get a shot of that, since it never happens.
When we got back to the car, we grabbed a bite to eat at the Lodge that's at the base of the Natural Bridge hiking trails. They also have a pool there, so we all went swimming to cool off.
We drove home Tuesday afternoon and then were able to spend Wednesday touring locally. I took G&G and Kimberly to see Churchill Downs and we also visited Colonel Sanders Grave.

It was a fun trip and Jacob really enjoyed spending time with his grandparents. I think he was Dennis' shadow most of the trip. Anywhere Grandpa went, Jacob was sure to go. Thanks Mom & Dad & Kimberly for making the trip to see us!

The hiking looks like a lot of fun especially the natural bridge.
The napping picture of Jacob is cute. It also reminds me of Camarae she would never fall asleep on either of our shoulders unless she was really tired.
Nate doesn't sleep on our shoulder's either, what is it with these kids? Good pictures, I can't believe how big Jacob is getting.
So fun to see the pictures of everyone!! Jacob is sure growing. Lindy
K-your little blonde boy is so adorable. You look great too Rebecca! Don't feel too bad about the pacifier--at least you can take that away someday, right? I have a 4 1/2 old and I can't take away his thumb. Plus, it's your sanity that matters!
What awesome natural bridges. I can not believe how big little Jacob is getting. Time flies.. You guys look so happy, and I am happy for you!!
